Power animal: Cat

I've had many power animals during my life, dogs, foxes and wolves, deers, butterflies and tortoises... And low and behold, my "new" power animal is: Cat. Well, not so new actually, I've been fascinated by cats before but all this time it has kind of been in the background... But now it's stepping in.

In case you wonder how I know this. Well, for me it usually happens that I feel very drawn to all things "cat". Shirts with pictures of cat on them, jewerly and so on. And if I were to get a cat shaped pendant or something like that I'd immediately feel at peace and calm.

Power animals are the animals that give us their strenght. I used to love wolves back in my teenage years and earlier until I learned to cultivate their wisdom into myself.

Here's some stuff about a cat as a power animal.

Cat, Power Animal, Symbol of Wholeness, Independence, Curiosity, Many Lives, Cleverness, Love, Mystery, Magic

By Ina Woolcott

In Egypt cats were treated like royalty and were always given special privileges. The Egyptian Goddess Bastet takes the form of a cat. Due to their x-ray vision, acute hearing and high intelligence they were used throughout history as guardians and protectors. In ancient Egypt, cats guarded the temple gates and were used to fend off evil. In Scandinavia the cat was used to represent fertility. The cat is associated with the Norse Goddess of Fertility Freya, and the Hindu Goddess of Childbirth, Shasthi. It is also a symbol of childbirth in India. Witches, in days long gone, were believed to have the ability to shape shift into cats. It was also believed that cats were their familiars.

Cats are extremely independent and combine a high degree of sensuality with a deeply psychic and spiritual nature. It is impossible to own a cat. They may allow you to take care of them and give them love, but only on their terms. Cats come and go as and when they wish to.

Cat's medicine includes independence, unpredictability, healing, curiosity, many lives, magic, mystery, cleverness, the ability to fight when cornered, seeing the unseen, Allows us to dream its dreams and protection. Love is represented by the cat.

Cats have more rods in the retinas of their eyes which enable them to see very well in the dark. Darkness is often associated with mankind's fears. Since the cat is at home in the dark, it is a highly valuable ally into the world of the supernatural and the unknown. If cat is your power animal, you may have found an excellent assistant in moving through your fears.

If cat appears in your life the blending of magic and mystery is close by. Like the cat, you too are independent and a free thinker. At night you probably feel energized. You will stay with a person or situation until you are bored - and then you're off again looking for something more interesting. Cat encourages agility in both body and mind. You will be presented with new ideas and places. The cat gives you clearer perception. You have good organisational skills. The cat teaches us that the physical and spiritual worlds are not separate, but one, and is a good assistant for meditation. A resourceful, strong and fearless spirit guide lending you courage and confidence. Examine the colours, character and behaviour of the cat that has entered your life. Everything about it will be mirrored in your own life.

The energy field of a cat rotates is a counter-clockwise direction, which is the opposite of a human energy field. Thus, cats have the ability to absorb and neutralise energy that affects humans in a negative way. This is part of the cats healing medicine. If something is affecting you in a negative way, place a cat on your lap or find a cat to pet. Your energy field will be realigned immediately and inner balance will be restored.

Cat is a trustworthy teacher, guiding you into the world of self discovery and transformation.

Happy new moon and the mission goes on

First, have a nice dark moon everyone! ^^ I did a little ritual of purification and to move from certain people and from that what has happened. And also, been cleaning up my room (haha). But it's actually refreshing. really refreshing.

My crown chakra has been bubbling again a bit... Just recording this. I guess time will tell what that indicates.

I've been thinking of doing a post about my stones, not sure if I've already done though...

The boy's brother (living in Africa) advised that he'd get baptized into Islam which I think too, is the best solution now since Islam is the mature religion where the beast is also coming from. If I remember right, his parents aren't religious and thus he was never baptized. He liked to go to church though, but lately couldn't do so because for some reason when hearing the church bells and entering the church it began hard to breathe for him. He was wondering is the demon had posessed him but don't think so (because the demon acts outside him). At least not completely... But they seem to share some kind of link. Long story short, he'd get the baptizing. We were wondering if it was possible to actually trap a demon, close it somewhere to keep it at bay but I couldn't find any instructions or information about that...
Though it seems to be the most common belief that the best way to get rid of an evil entity is controlling you mind: Do not feed it by fearing it. Do not feed it with any negative emotion, instead, switch into positive mood. Think of the most happiest and loving times you've had and stick to them.

It might sound easier than it actually is but what do you got to loose..?

A new mission continues

So apparently he managed to get two of them out by himself. There was someone who was just arranging stuff and a girl ghost who was crying. They left when asked but the last one is furious. It's shutting lights, making loud noses and growling. The boy said he suspects it came from Africa where he was visiting recently and where there was a bloody goat head in the house he was sleeping in. It all began there and the creature had followed him here. He had tried everything, Jeesus, salt, chrystals, sage.. You name it but with no success. I told him we'd need to speak to the beast it's own language, meaning, that since it's probably from a part of Africa where people follow a very different religion none of those things matter to it.

I then went search online more about the local religion. The population mostly consists of Muslims but many also follow the old African religion called Serer. They apparently use pentagram as a protective symbol and he recalled seeing a pentagram in the house. I suggested he'd use the pentagram and appeal to the supreme god of serer religion called Roog. And also, call his relatives in Africa for more help. That's all I could do by far...

Restless spirits, a new mission

I just got myself a mission in a form of helping a fellow wizard in trouble. I happened to find my way to Indian bazar the other day and heard a discussion between a boy and the shop assistant about ghosts that keep on disturbing him in his apatment. We ended up hanging out the whole day and speaking about all this stuff (he's a newbie on the field) and I advised him to ask if the ghosts have something to tell him. I don't believe in banishing spirits, if they do such a thing they need to be listened to. Maybe their dead was traumatic and they just want someone to tell about it to before they can accept it and move on etc. Maybe something bothered them during their lifetime and they need to tell about it.. I don't know but it takes a lot of energy and effort to, for example, throw things around when you're not a physical being and if a spirit does that, in my opinion, they want to get noticed and thus have something on their heart.

I advised him to use a pendulum and ask the spirits what are they up to. One of them left when he paid attention to it, but the other two are still there as far as I know.

I'll keep you in touch with this. :)
